DESERT ROSE PERFORMS THEIR SACRED MUSIC AT LEMON JACK THEATRE, CENTURION, GAUTENG
Desert Rose recently finished ther latest album, Tariqat - The Path and will release their new CD artwork as well as perform some of the spiritual songs on the album at Lemon Jack Theatre in Centurion on 9 March 2013. The album has received critical acclaim in South Africa and abroad for its unique crossover Sufi World Music.
The Desert Rose duo of Yusuf and Lynne who will be attending the Rasooli Centre's annual conference from 8 to 11 March, titled "Celebrating the Universal Message of the Quran", will present their sacred music over this very special spiritual weekend to celebrate the univerality and message of Oneness of the Quran and the Sufi Traditions.
Desert Rose was inspired by Sufi Shaykh Fadhlalla Haeri in December 2011 and produced the Tariqat (The Path) album in 2012, performing it on their Sufi African Vibrations Tour in London, Uk and Penang, Malaysia. Some of the songs on the CD include Dhikr from the Haydari Handbook which was compiled by Sh Fadhlalla Haeri. They will also lead more informal musical Dhikr sessions at the Rasooli Centre on 8 and 9 March as part of the annual conference. These sessions will be more about accessing the inner world through Dhikr as well as meditative music.
Patrons are urged to book early as seating is very limited.
